THis is why people need to STOP blaming republicans for the economy.

OBAMA: "In this budget, we will end education programs that don't work and end direct payments to large agribusinesses that don't need them. We'll eliminate the no-bid contracts that have wasted billions in Iraq, and reform our defense budget so that we're not paying for Cold War-era weapons systems we don't use. We will root out the waste, fraud and abuse in our Medicare program that doesn't make our seniors any healthier, and we will restore a sense of fairness and balance to our tax code by finally ending the tax breaks for corporations that ship our jobs overseas."

THE FACTS: First, his budget does not accomplish any of that. It only proposes those steps. That's all a president can do, because control over spending rests with Congress. Obama's proposals here are a wish list and some items, including corporate tax increases and cuts in agricultural aid, will be a tough sale in Congress.

Second, waste, fraud and abuse are routinely targeted by presidents who later find that the savings realized seldom amount to significant sums. Programs that a president might consider wasteful have staunch defenders in Congress who have fought off similar efforts in the past.

some thoughts on liberals and hillary in particular

I was fixing to go bed and for some unknown reason, LOL, I started thinking about the libs and on Hillary in particular. I don't know why this happens to me right before bed, sigh, but here it is lol. As anyone who knows me, knows I HATE the liberals - period. Its no secret. This is not to say I dislike dems because I believe sometimes there is a difference between the two; I disgress however. I dislike liberards because of how the look at this country, the people in it (usually underneath them by the way they act), and the world in general. I hate the way they want to take this country toward socialism and how much they seem to despise capitalism. I must admit, though, that I find myself having a certain amount of rather grudging respect for Hillary Clinton. I still think she is a lib, but I think sometimes she would actually do the right thing (maybe). Like Luke Skywalker said to Darth Vader " there is good in you yet, I see it") She is no pushover that is for darn sure, which is probably why she didn't get the nomination. Pelosi knew she couldn't push her around like she most likely is Obama. She holds her ground and I respect that. If you are wondering why not respect Pelosi too then? My answer to this would be. She is dried up, ugly, bitter, old feminazi who is finally like Obama getting to mete out some payback - that is the difference my friends.
Now hopefully having thrown my two cents worth out there, LOL, I can get some sleep.

Democratic governers and republican governers spar over money

The following response was issued Sanford, the Republican Governors Association chairman in response to comments made by some democatic governers at a press conference they held.

"I think in this instance I would humbly suggest that the real fringe are those that are supporting the stimulus," Sanford said. "It is not at all in keeping with the principles that made this country great, not at all in keeping with economic reality, not in keeping with a stable dollar, and not in keeping with the sentiments of most of this country."

I couldnt have said it better myself. Well said Sanford, well said.
